Writing about my works gave me a greaterawareness of my life path. Re-reading my "things" made me see their deep meaning in my existence. Although at the time I created a work I was not aware that it was the result of my fundamental suffering in the family, I now clearly observe the extent of the discomfort that my family environment has produced in me, as well as the enormous existential effort on my part to emerge from that sea of suffering. This immense effort is manifest in every work, with more or less lightness and more or less awareness. That suffering is the springboard for my works no longer amazes me. My artworksare a direct emanation of my deep emotions, they constituted on the one hand a way to indirectly live emotions that were too powerful and negative for me to face consciously; on the other they wereasheet anchorpreventing me from severing all relationships with the entire world. They allowed me to maintain a minimum openness to my life even when human relations were disastrous and devastating. Art – and with the term “art" I include both the creator and the observer – is a great hope for humanity. It is a wonderful opportunity to turn closure into openness, misunderstanding into awareness, poison into medicine and karma into mission.
