A cascade of large letters made of rusty iron - aggregated (not welded) in unstable equilibrium –is hanging from the ceiling. The size of the set varies, depending on how the letters arearranged. Such aggregation represents an accumulation of potentiality in itslatent state. The letters are in fact waiting for a creator to come up with anagrams, words, and associations; but for now, they are in a sense only internal causes and latent effects, waiting for the external cause to present itself in order to manifest meaning, to make sense. I found such state of latency interesting: on the one hand, the cascade of letters constitutes a work in its own right, the original chaos from which everything originates; on the other, the letters are just an "incipit", an embryo, the beginning of something that has yet to be completed, that will find its right place one day, hopefully. One cause and condition that led to the creation of the work was the fascination exertedby letters so large, thin and rusty (rust gives the letters a sense of past life and experiences); one second cause was my need to go to the origin of logos, where thoughts have not yet taken shape. The content of this work is the search for a place, a placenta, where wordscan still be an unexpressed potential, in working progress so to say. Suchrich and fertile territory can only be found in fantasy, which by definition has no limits and structures. What is transient in this work is the shape, material, size and arrangement of the letters; what is original is the energy that the assembly exudes from a mental and spiritual point of view. Within my life, this work is an outlet for all the words with which we are bombarded every day: on television, in newspapers, on social media, words whose reading or listening time we cannot choose, which are impossible to assimilate as quickly as we are offered. It is in fact a search for a soul time to interact with letters and words.
