Four small metal wheels are assembledpointing four different directions, in such a way as to prevent the movementimplied in the wheel technology. They hang with their metal hook from the ceiling, free to swing, with a soft feather collar that attenuates and counterbalances the hardness and rigidity of the metal. The title emphasizes the lightness of feathers and at the same time the human condition of impediment and limitedness. The causes and conditions that led to the creation of this work weremy awareness of the existential "heaviness" inherent in my life and my desire to lighten it through irony and play. Thevery assembly of the wheels (a symbol of movement and dynamism par excellence) hampers their function. However, the feathers and the hook represent an opportunity for their "lightness", softness and levity. The human condition, rigidly limited in itself, has the potential to rise to unimaginable heights. The content of the work is the coexistence of negative and positive elements in any living being: fundamental darkness and enlightenment. This represents a source of both great hope and great responsibility: we are called at all times to this inner struggle between good and evil; victory or defeat depend on ourselves, we ourselves lay causes and receive theirresulting effects. What is transient about the work is the size and the workmanship of wheels, feathers and hook; what is original on the other hand is the energy generated by the combination of the elements; such energy echoes both in the creator and in the observer. Within my life, this work represents an opportunity for awareness, a turning point with regard to my pessimism and my existential negativity: the hope contained in knowing that I - like every human being - possess(beyond darkness) also lightness and humour is cathartic and provides existence withan unlimited condition.
